Summer Tournament 2012 - Finals

On Saturday June 23rd Northaw & Cuffley LTC held heir finals day in sunshine and showers. Rain stopped play on at least two occasions but managed to get all five matches played starting at 10am and finishing at 6.00pm.

Helen Thewlis won the Ladies Singles 6-3, 6-4 after a close match with Jean Thomas.



Christian Brailey fought a tough Men’s Singles match with Jon Large winning 7-5, 7-6.



The Ladies Doubles, another brilliant and exciting match with Amelia and Louisa Frendo defeating Nicola Keeling and Jean Thomas 6-1, 6-3.



Men’s Doubles were Jon Large and Paul Rock teamed up against John Keeling and Ian Bailey, excellent tennis was played by all, resulting with Jon and Paul winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. 



The last match of the day was the Mixed Doubles, an exciting match with outstanding tennis. Michaela Ince and Jon Mays took on  Jean Thomas and Jon Large and won 6-2, 6-2.



Cliff Trophy Floodlight Tournament Saturday 24th March 2012 

The tournament was very well supported especially by the men making it necessary to have a prelimnary round in order to even up the numbers.  Jane Anderson and Greg Howell beat Dawn Liu and Paul Fitzsimmons 10-7 in a very close match, watched by many members and their friends creating an exciting atmosphere at the club!
