All juniors need to be aware that new competition age groups are being introduced from 1st September 2010 (Winter Season 2010).

One of the most useful tools on this page is the Age Group Calculator, which really is very simple to use. By typing in a player's date of birth and clicking 'Explain' they will be able to see the age group that they will be competing in for the next 4 seasons, starting from winter 2010.

Please have a read through this page to make yourself familiar with these new age groups, so that you can offer advice to your young players. I would suggest that each player uses the Age Group Calculator, prints off the page and keeps it with them for future reference. A copy for their parents might also be a good idea!!

JUNIOR CATEGORY "MINI-TENNIS" (Fee £34)

This is aimed at children aged 10 and below as at 1st January 2010 i.e. born 2000 or later, who are in the Mini Tennis Programme and only use Red, Orange or Green Mini Tennis Balls and will entitle them to:-

1. Access the fee based structured sessions on Junior Night (Friday) 4.30-6pm.
2. Participate in the funded structured sessions on Junior Night from 6-7pm.*
3. Use the courts on Junior Night up until 7pm.
4. Arrange coaching during the week at a fee and time agreed with the coaches.
5. Represent the Club in matches by invitation.
6. Access the Mini Tennis Matchplay sessions at Cuffley to include 2 free Matchplays.
7. Participate in Mini Tennis Cuffley Tournaments which may be subject to a separate fee
   *restricted places available and subject to sufficient participants, so please check on the night.

This category of member must be supervised by an adult at all times outside the structured coaching sessions detailed above, i.e. when your child is not on court with a coach, it is the parent's/guardian's responsibility to ensure the child is safe and that Club property is not being damaged. The club accepts no responsibility for children on the grounds of the Club while not with a coach.

JUNIOR CATEGORY (Fee £65)

This is aimed at children aged 11 and above as at 1st January 2010 i.e. born 1999 or earlier, who use Yellow Tennis Balls and will entitle them to:-

1. Enter Friday Night Junior Ladder competitions from 6-7pm.
2. Participate in the funded structured sessions on Junior Night from 7-8pm.*
3. Use the courts on Junior Night, with exclusive access after 7pm.
4. Use the courts at other times during ‘Free Play All’ or if available at other times.
5. Arrange coaching at a fee and time agreed with the coaches.
6. Represent the Club in matches by invitation, which may also require LTA British Tennis Membership.
7. Participate in Junior Cuffley Tournament which may be subject to a separate fee.
   *restricted places available and subject to sufficient participants, so please check on the night.

This category of member must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times outside the structures or coaching sessions detailed above, if aged 11 or below. However, all Juniors remain the responsibility of their parent/guardian on Club premises when not under the supervision of a coach.

JUNIOR PLUS CATEGORY (Fee £65) BY INVITATION ONLY

This is aimed at the more experienced/performance Junior player and is by invitation only. In addition to the standard entitlements/restrictions, this category of member may:-

1. Play in adult sessions as defined by the coaches and/or Committee
2. Represent the Club in adult matches by invitation.
3. Participate in Adult Cuffley Tournaments which may be subject to a separate fee.
4. Operate the flood lights and/or apply to be a key holder to the premises/ball cupboard.

One or more of these additional entitlements will be granted on an individual basis at the discretion of the coaches/Committee.
